Landlords - are you ready for EPCs?

From 1st October 2008, all rental properties marketed to-let or with new a tenancy in England and Wales are required to have an Energy Performance Certificate.

Why should you care?

Because your prospective tenants will be able to see at a glance how energy efficient and environmentally friendly your properties are. If you have invested in energy saving measures your properties will perform well and will really stand out from the crowd. If not you may find them harder to rent out in future.

When do I need to get one?

The new regulations came into force on 1st October 2008. If you are renting a property or renewing an existing tenancy you will need to display an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) inside the property. If you don't have one, you could be fined £200 for non compliance. The EPC will remain valid for ten years.

Cost?

Our usual fee of £65 + VAT applies to EPCs produced for rental properties. There are discounts available for Landlords with more than one property. Please email info@irateenergy.com or call for details.
